Sriti Jha was born on 26 february 1986 in Darbhanga, Bihar. She has completed her studies from Modern Indian School Kathmandu and then in Delhi from Laxman Public School & Sri Venkateswara College. Sriti Jha is seen in Balaji's popular show Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV which is an intense love story. Sriti is playing the character of Pragya opposite Shabbir Ahluwalia as Abhi. Pragya is an elder sister, who is practical, hardworking and committed towards her family.

Recently, Sriti Jha was honoured with the Best Actress in a Lead Role trophy in Indian Telly Awards 2015. She also shared the award for the Best Jodi with co-actor Shabbir Ahluwalia. She said, "Well one should work hard irrespective of anything. But awards are surely reassuring and encouraging. But having said that, passion and love for work is the necessity between action and cut."

Sriti played the lead role of Jhanvi. The story was based on the struggle of Jhanvi with her over possesive and abusive husband Viraj played by Karanvir Bohra.

Sriti Jha has essayed the role of Ganga, the victim of child marriage in the popular series Balika Vadhu. Later she was replaced by Sargun Mehta and currently the role of Ganga is played by Aasiya Kazi.
